This is a wonderful opportunity for participants to experience what school life is like in France, while furthering French language skills and gaining an unforgettable life experience.
We are huge fans of this region of France and have organised many very successful stays here. Brittany is such a beautiful area in which to be based and a perfect base to explore the beaches, castles and towns and villages that make the region so popular with French and tourists alike.
Participants are enrolled into a local French school and are integrated in a class with French students of the same age. They follow both compulsory and optional subjects depending on age. The stay can be organised for a minimum of 1 -3 months depending on preference and availability.
Full board accommodation is arranged with a family located within the school catchment area. They may or may not go to the same school as the children living in the host family as this will be dependent on the availability of each school.Host families are caring families, all with children, but not necessarily of the same gender or age as the participant.
The school year in France runs from early September to early July.
There are 3 holiday periods:
La Toussaint: 2 weeks around end October
Christmas: 2 weeks
Hiver: 2 weeks around mid-February
Easter: 2 weeks around mid-April
Seconday aged students attend the “college” between 11 and 15 years old before progressing onto the Lycée from 15-18 years old.

- Deadline for registration must be received 4 months prior to start date
- Arrival airports: Nantes/Rennes. However it is important not to buy flights until exact location of placement has been confirmed.
