This is a wonderful opportunity for participants to experience what school life is like in France and on top of this, to live an authentic boarding school experience with other French boys and girls.
We work with four different boarding schools which are located within the area of Southern Brittany and the Western Loire. Island Abroad, together with their local partners, will choose one of these schools for each participant, based on availability and participant profile.
All of the selected boarding schools are mixed gender and offer an acceptable standard of boarding accommodation for 5 day boarding. Participants stay with a local host family from Friday-Sunday allowing for a great opportunity to also see how a French family live.
At school participants are integrated in a class with French students and follow both compulsory and optional subjects depending on age.
The stay can be organised for a minimum of 1 month and maximum of 10 months depending on preference and school availability.

Additional Notes
- Deadline for registration ideally should be received 6 months prior to start date. Applications will normally be subject to a private interview with school directors before being offered a place.
- There is a minimum language requirement before arrival: students should be able to communicate sufficiently with teachers and other pupils. Additional French private tuition will be made available should it be required.
