The Spanish for foodies programme offers a cultural and gastronomic immersion in what is one of the most respected regional cuisines in Spain. The programme has been designed for mature adults wishing to combine a practical course in Spanish with the opportunity of experiencing flavours and techniques of local gastronomy.
Some basic knowledge of Spanish is required. There are 10 Spanish lessons per week held normally in the mornings from 09.15h-12.00h. Then the cooking classes begins between 12.00h and finalise at 14.00h by all the participants enjoying together the food that they have prepared together.
Afternoon outings included within the programme might include a visit to an old sherry tavern to taste and learn about the local wine making process. Another popular visit is the tapas tour and also the Andalucian confectionery workshop learning to prepare the local sweets from the area.
On the weekend there is an optional tour offered to Jerez de La Frontera to visit another historic wine cellar and tour the town. The programme is a great opportunity to go on a different sort of holiday, learn, enjoy and meet new friends from all over the world.
